These tend to be longer than a couple of months, usually from 6-24 months. Those on a ‘fixed term contract’ will usually be paid directly with the business and will accrue annual leave, sick leave and may sometimes be entitled to other perks that permanent staff are. An example of this might be a maternity leave cover hire or a specific project to deliver.
