The company
We are partnering with a national food distribution business who delivers exceptional value to it members and suppliers. With $1.5 billion in purchases, they are a retail leader who leads the way in delivering food services to its diverse customer base. This is a newly created role that requires a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spark.

The role
Working closely with the Executive Team, this is a key position that will work work closely with both customers and suppliers. Specific outcomes will include:

* Develop and implement category strategies to achieve sales and income targets
* Analyse trends and identify new opportunities within assigned categories
* Create category plans
* Negotiate supplier terms and rebates
* Analyse and prepare reports for management and members
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

About you
Experience working within a large retail environment would be advantageous as are relevant qualifications. This role will particularly suit someone with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment.
