About Your New Role

The Data Engineer position has been created to partner with the Analytics Manager and the Head of IT. Internally, the Data Engineer is the subject matter expert for the data function and is embedded in the business. With direct exposure of the data lifecycle, the Data Engineer will develop a deep understanding of how the business operates and how to create value with data.

The core responsibilities will include:
•Support the data environment including the infrastructure, Data & Tools.
•Provide technical guidance on data structures to ensure optimal efficiency.
•Build data pipelines deploying models, maintain the DevOps process
•Create data tools and scripts to support Analytics function.
•Participate in the design and ongoing management of company databases
•Oversee controls and data governance including security requirements
•Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current industry trends, advancements in technologies and data management concepts.

About You!
•The successful candidate brings experience as a Data Engineer or other technical data position.
•Has database experience in MS SQL, Data Factory, Data Warehouse & Data Lake
•Can demonstrate skills with ETL processes
•You have sound programming skills, ideally with Python.
•Will bring experience working with API’s.
•Has ‘hands on’ experience in data stewardship including responsibility of governance, policy and controls.
•Will ideally come from an environment where you have exposure to the entire data lifecycle. Applicants coming from inventory / supply chain driven businesses will be held in high regard.
