THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client are looking to recruit an experienced Insights Manager to be responsible for gathering and establishing insights of customer needs, design requirements and specifications for new product innovation and development projects.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Innovation, you will have the opportunity to partner with different functional areas and utilise experience, current theories and practices related to the New Product Introduction process through knowledge of more than one discipline (e.g. Product Management, R&PD, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Manufacturing, Application Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Legal, etc)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Act as a key driver in progressing innovation growth at across the business
•Establish customer needs utilizing tools and activities that include data gathering and organisation, concept generation and selection, the translation of these customer needs to product requirements and validation of the final product design with the customer.
•Lead the assessment of market needs, trends, segments, and competitive landscape as well as primary and secondary market research to develop new product requirements and a winning value proposition.
•Manage insights on new product innovation projects from concept through to launch, leveraging ideation frameworks and tactics with innovation team members to convert insights into actionable ideas
•Develop and execute research plans, from start to finish, by creating learning plans and leveraging a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. •Synthesis of these results and integration into the cross-functionable team project plans
•Drive continual improvement by identifying and experimenting with new innovative research techniques for interacting with our current and future consumers to learn about their behaviours and beliefs
ABOUT YOU
Essential
•Bachelors Degree preferably in Business or Scientific Discipline
•Demonstrated experience in new product market research projects from concept to delivery
•Demonstrated ability to listen, to clearly articulate objectives so that they are understood, and to provide both recognition and critical feedback
•Knowledge of New Product Introduction process is required
Desirable
•Preferred 8+ years of experience specifically in new product development and/or commercialisation
•Preferred 6+ years of experience leading market research and customer insights projects, including working knowledge of Voice of Customer, Jobs-to-be-Done, and Design Thinking techniques
•Preferred work experience in an R&PD environment
