This Australian-owned manufacturing business is a global market leader in advanced power solutions, servicing a huge number of commercial and industrial clients worldwide. With a presence across multiple continents, their head office is based in Sydney and is fuelled for further international expansion.

Due to this continued growth trajectory, they are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the ongoing development of their product range.

Your New Role
You will join a team of highly creative product design engineers to both develop new, and improve existing, electrical power solution products, primarily for use in commercial and industrial office environments. In managing your own small portfolio of projects end to end, key aspects of the role include:
•New product conceptualisation and design, including plastic and sheet metal products
•Customisation of existing products
•Prototyping and verification of designs
•Creating detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings and renderings
•Inspection, testing and validation of the final product.

About You
You will bring to the role:
•Tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering, industrial design or a related field
•Around 3 to 5 years’ product design experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment (e.g. appliances, medical devices, electronics), ideally involving injection moulded and metal stamped parts
•Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally Solidworks
•A high level of demonstrated creative flair to conceptualise new products as well as improve existing products
•Strong collaboration and engagement skills to work in a team environment that fosters open problem solving and technical discussions
