Your new role
As Project Manager you will oversee engineering activities for energy and utilities projects, serving as the primary client contact and coordinating closely with the Construction Manager. In driving the success of projects that are enhancing the lives of entire communities, key responsibilities will include:
• Manage energy and utility projects from the bid/tender phase through completion, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and safe delivery while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership in engineering, client communication, and resource management, collaborating with the Construction Manager to implement innovative solutions and address project challenges.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, fostering strong relationships to enhance satisfaction, support business growth, and uphold the company’s reputation.
• Oversee project planning and execution, including procurement, commissioning, contractor management, and all phases of design, construction, and closeout.
• Ensure rigorous project scheduling, resource forecasting, and financial management to achieve objectives, control costs, and maximize profitability.
About You
To hit the ground running in this role, you’ll ideally have:
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, or Project Management or relevant experience.
• Proven experience in managing large, complex projects within the energy or utilities sector.
• Strong understanding of electricity industry regulations and contestable works.
• Expertise in managing projects from initiation to closeout, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead teams, negotiate with stakeholders, and build strong relationships.
• Ability to manage project costs and ensure financial decisions align with company policies.
• Strong analytical skills to address challenges and implement effective solutions to meet project objectives.
