A leading Australian organisation that prides itself on providing a broad range of critical services to the Australian community. Located in Macquarie Park, the finance team is now looking for a qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join the team.

Your new role...

A unique opportunity to drive real change and influence as a Senior Financial Accountant in the Group Financial Control team. Working alongside a high calibre and engaged team, your mandate is to provide expert accounting advisory and financial controls governance services to the group.

Your responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:
Review and assess comprehensive financial controls, their effectiveness and assist with the re-design of efficient financial controls to drive best practice;
Execute financial compliance-related programs and develop compliance assessments to establish accountability;
Work closely with stakeholders to foster an efficient and effective financial controls environment;
Utilise reporting tools to translate the outcomes of key financial controls to senior management;
Act as a subject matter expert to supporting stakeholders in the development of finance policies and procedures;
Assess the implications to financial controls and accounting standards as a result of new opportunities and initiatives for the organisation.

About you

Ex-Big4 external/internal audit/advisory background with 4-5+ years of post-graduate experience
Experienced with identifying/assessing financial controls, risk and compliance, and external financial reporting
Exceptional written/verbal skills and the ability to develop key stakeholder relationships
Experience with SOX is favourable
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
Adaptable to change and takes initiative in whatever they do
