About your new role

The Senior Data Engineer position has been added to the structure to play a leading role in the design and uplift of the data function for the organisation.
This is a broad role that will see you work with a legacy environment as well as new technologies that will enhance the performance of the data platform.

The key responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop and maintain the data integration platform using Azure services.
• Architect and roll out a webhook based notification system.
• Develop and manage data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory.
• Engage with other teams to define, build and deliver new features.
• Build data pipelines deploying models, maintain the DevOps process.
• Create data tools and scripts to support the Analytics capabilities.
• Develop and maintain microservices using C++, C# and Javascript as required.
• Ensure the ongoing performance, quality and responsiveness of data systems, whilst looking for improvement opportunities.
• Maintain the legacy, on-prem infrastructure as well as the Azure cloud platform.
• Write and document clean, scalable code & participate in code reviews.

About you!

• You are an experience Data Engineer that has performed the above listed tasks with an organisation where you had oversight of the entire data lifecycle.
• You bring technical expertise with Azure cloud as well as Data Factory, Event Hub, API Management & MS Fabric (or Synapse), with Azure certifications held in high regard.
• Have prior experience managing hybrid environments, including on-prem servers.
• Will bring ETL experience as well as ‘hands on’ experience with SSIS, SSAS & SSRS
• You are strong at building data pipelines and working with data tools to achieve your outcomes.
• Is a proven Data Engineer with experience overseeing the entire data lifecycle.
• You will be able to program during the course of your role (IE: C++, C#, Python or R).
• Is skilled with database technologies (MS SQL, SQL, NoSQL, ORM frameworks etc).
