Your new role
The role of WHS Officer is an integral part of the success of the business and reports directly to the Safety Manager and supports the state-based field personnel team in meeting the health and safety strategic objectives.

The role would cover:
•Advise and assist field line management on overall health and safety in the workplace including the full implementation of the Health & Safety Management •System requirements, the application of safe systems of work, appropriate hazard identification and control, worker competencies, adequate WHS processes, etc.
•Provide oversight of field line management practices to ensure all incidents are investigated and recorded, that relevant incident causal/contributing factors have been identified and that corresponding preventative actions have been developed, implemented and monitored for effectiveness.
•Conduct regular WHS inspections and audits.
•Issue non-conformance reports for non-conforming works.
•Assist field line management with the management and close-out of client non-conformance reports.
•Maintain information systems and ensure accurate records are kept.
•Recommend improvements in work instructions (procedures, guidelines, SWMSs)
•Develop or improve work standards and requirements through training and education.
•Manage the input of audit data and ensure timely delivery.
•Project compliance to safety regulations and management systems.
•Internal and external safety reporting.
•Perform and document incident investigations.
•Providing a high level of safety leadership coaching to the project team and conduct HSE-related training.

What we need from you
To be successful you will have the following:
•Experience in a similar role
•Experience in a heavy industrial, engineering, production or manufacturing environment where there has been significant high-risk equipment involved
•Must have good communication skills.
•Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude.
•Excellent time management, attention to detail and organizational skills
